Thank you to the 30 graduate student competitors and to everyone who showed up to support these graduate scholars. After one presentation, a supporter stated, "Now I actually understand your research, so that's cool!"

Funding, Opportunities, and Support

Support: Teaching Engagement Program (TEP) GE Drop-in Office Hours
Bring your questions, share experiences, and problem-solve with TEP consultants. Wednesdays from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. in the Knight Library DREAM Lab or via Zoom.

D|M|D is an opportunity to showcase the exciting, multidisciplinary work produced by the UO's graduate students. Graduate students are invited to submit proposals for 15-minute presentations on any aspect of data, media, or digital studies. Presentations can be based on work in progress or research and work in the final stages of development.
Deadline to submit a proposal: Tuesday, January 28.

Funding: Oregon Humanities Center Dissertation Fellowship Program
The Oregon Humanities Center (OHC) offers the Dissertation Fellowship in partnership with the Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation. This fellowship program provides the fellow with a one-term research appointment to allow full-time work on the dissertation.
Deadline to apply: Monday, Feburary 3 at 4 p.m.

Funding: Oregon Humanities Center Graduate Research Support Fellowship
The purpose of the Graduate Research Support Fellowship program is to stimulate humanities research and support graduate education by providing doctoral students with resources to assist with their doctoral research and the completion of their dissertations.
Deadline to apply: Monday, Feburary 3 at 4 p.m.

Funding: Requesting Institutional Support for External Fellowships
Graduate students are encouraged to pursue prestigious external fellowships that offer academic and research funding, time to focus on your reserach without work obligations, and unique professional development opportunities. Most external fellowships cover some, but not all, of the tuition, insurance, stipend, and fees that the UO provides to trainee positions. Therefore, you may need to request institutional funding for tuition, stipend, mandatory fees, and insurance expenses not covered by the fellowship
Significant procedural and deadline changes took effect January 6 to this request process to strengthen our equity-minded approach to considering support requests across colleges, disciplines, and funding agencies over time and provide better information to make support decisions. Learn about external fellowship funding opportunities and these changes by visiting the Division's research page
