Silver Linings in a Dark Year: Our 2020 in Review

To our dear friends, fans, and flames,
We are so honored by the support we've received this year from all of you. From tuning in to our Virtually INGenious festival, showing up to help clean up St. Clair-Superior, to voting us one of the best Festivals and Arts Events in Cleveland, you have been the brightest lights in an otherwise dark year. From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU. 🔥🧡
Let's take a look back at this year. For all of its dark spots, it sure had its fair share of shining moments.Â

|
Ingenuity was proud to partner with 48 Hour Virtual Music Fest CLE to produce the first-ever Virtually INGenious festival. We featured 100+ bands, artists, performers, creatives, and difference-makers in our community. This event also raised over $5,000 to keep ingenious programming going in Cleveland throughout the year.

Did You Know?Ingenuity continues to partner with and support our friends at 48 Hour Virtual Music Fest CLE. After our initial partnership for Virtually INGenious, they received an Ignite! Impact Award to help grow their capacity. Ingenuity will continue to contribute content for their events, just like we did with Touch Cleveland's Unspoken: Impact Series for the December Blizzard Bash (which has raised over $8,000 for Hunger Network!). Remember, you can revisit all of the performances from each festival by visiting the Facebook event page and navigating to the discussion tab!

We launched the INSPIRE (Initiative for Neighborhood Social Progress, Impact, and Equity) Committee. This committee designs tools and events to increase our reach and our impact. For instance, if you saw the Make(r) a More Equitable Movement panel during Virtually INGenious, that was the result of the INSPIRE Committee's hard work and a new partnership with Made Cleveland!

Amplified Important Voices...

Â
The Ignite! Impact Awards offer seed funding, space, resources, and consulting to entrepreneurs from minority communities. 8 Ignite! Impact Awards were granted in 2020.
#VoicesofCLEÂ created space for artists of color and for the conversation surrounding racial equity and social justice as our community strives to heal and evolve.

Did You Know? The Unspoken: Impact Series from Touch Cleveland was made possible through an Ignite! Impact Award! When 2020 brought systemic racism to the forefront of all our lives, Touch Cleveland (a local marketing and public relations firm) interviewed 10 of Cleveland's most prominent small business owners to capture their stories and experiences navigating institutional racism. You can find all 4 episodes of the Unspoken: Impact Series on Touch CLE's YouTube Channel!

Fused Art and Democracy Together...

We hosted events that encouraged all of you to complete your census and get out to vote! With our #VoicesofCLE partners, we invited young people to our space to work with Census educators and community engagement specialists. We also worked with Sankofa Fine Arts Plus and the St. Clair-Superior Teen Center, to create 2 large-scale murals that help ensure everyone counted and voted!
The murals created were displayed in US Bank/Star Plaza in August, September, and October.

Did You Know?We have an amazing group of people who work to capture what we do on film. You can see some of our participatory democracy work for yourself by visiting our website! Stay tuned for more videos in the future, in partnership with awesome folks like Matt Tyrrell, who created the awesome preview video below!

Help Ensure 2021 is Even Brighter!

At Ingenuity, we believe that art heals. We also believe that everyone could use some extra healing as 2020 comes to a close. Through your generous support, we can continue to be a resource for recovery and inspiration.
Will you consider making a gift to Ingenuity before the year is over?

We are getting closer and closer to our $7,500 year-end digital donations goal! This campaign is open until 12/31. Watch the thermometer climb - stay tuned to our Facebook page over the next 10 days!
