Scholarship Established by William Ash

William (Bill) Ash ’79, a graduate of Piqua High School, thought of a unique way to encourage students from his alma mater to pursue an accountancy degree: by providing scholarships to graduates who are attending Miami University to pursue a major in accounting and/or finance. Read more...

First‑Year Accountancy Majors Design Solutions in FC Cincinnati Case

Each year, the First Year Integrated Core engages incoming Farmer School of Business students in a skills-based curriculum that focuses on developing key workplace skills: communication and collaboration, creative and critical thinking, computational thinking and coding, as well as ethics. The semester wraps up with a client challenge, in which students tackle a real business problem, for a real company, with real data. 5th Annual Douglas Millett Forensic Accounting Case Competition Held in February

On February 9, twenty junior and senior Accountancy majors participated in the 5th Annual Douglas Millett Forensic Accounting Case Competition. Five teams delivered high-quality presentations on recent topics of accounting fraud in front of a panel of forensic accountants, which included special guests Amanda Malusky Krauss of Axium Consulting and Robert Vaccari of Ingardus. 2023 Shade Family CBL Emerging Leaders Consulting Experience Held in Chicago

Student leaders from different majors, many in accountancy, participated in a two-week experiential, immersive experience living the life of consultants working for a firm. Offered as a Winter Term elective course titled Strategy-Based Consulting, students interact with three different clients to learn their needs as they are presented with client challenges. Read more...

Winter 2023 Faculty Conference Updates

The Winter Term offered several faculty members the chance to share, collaborate, and learn from other leaders in the field of accountancy education. Topics included instructional case studies, ESG and Sustainability, AI and cyber risk, and data analytics in the gambling industry. Read more...
