The Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society is excited to share two promotions as a reflection of their exemplary work, combined with the growth of the Applied Analytics & Emerging Technology Lab (AETL) engagement with industry and campus.
Michael Kennel is being promoted to Lead Software Solutions Architect and Ramandeep Makhija is being promoted to Lead Data Scientist within AETL.
As the Lead Software Solutions Architect, Michael will lead a new focus area within AETL of Solutions/ Product Development. Michael will act as an enterprise architect to lead the design and incubation of solutions (products, tools, and platforms) that target market needs identified with industry and research partners. As others join him in this new area of AETL in the near future (targeting new hires, interns, and fellows), Michael will also lead day-to-day activities of these software interns and other software engineers. He will continue to work directly on strategic pieces of technology or projects for AETL and Lucy, while leading design efforts.
As the AETL Lead Data Scientist, Ramandeep will mentor and supervise other AETL Data Scientists and fellows in their activities and professional development. AETL Data Scientists will continue to act independently on assigned projects and activities under Ramandeep’s guidance and mentorship. Similar to Michael's appointment within a Solutions/Product Development focus area, Ramandeep will be positioned within an Industry Engagement focus area within AETL. In tandem, Ramandeep will continue to apply his skills to strategic industry engagements and research partnerships while guiding other AETL data scientists, interns, and fellows in our efforts.
Please join the Lucy Family Institute in congratulating both Ramandeep and Michael in these exciting new leadership roles within AETL!
