The Economic Statecraft Program hosted the third monthly Economic Statecraft Discussion Series at the Bush School's DC campus on April 12. This series engages current and former executive branch officials, scholars, congressional staffers and others across the USG in regular dialogue about economic/security challenges and innovative policy solutions.

Professor Cary Nederman's latest book chapter, entitled "Convergences of Private Self-Interest and the Common Good in Medieval Europe: An Overview of Economic Theories, c. 1150 - c. 1500," has been published in "Common Good and Self-Interest in Medieval and Early Modern Philosophy," edited by Juhana Toivanen and Heikki Haara. The paper explores how political theorists between the twelfth and fifteenth centuries employed various economic concepts to define the government's responsibility to promote the material benefit of their people.
