Student Survey: Your students will begin taking the student school climate survey (3rd-8th grade only) on February 3rd. Having feedback from our students and parents is so important as it helps us plan the direction of focus and ensure that we are providing the best educational environment possible for our families. All students will be taking this survey during morning meeting one day in the homeroom class. If you DO NOT want your child to participate, please fill out the attached Parent Consent Form and return to your child’s homeroom teacher no later than January 31st.
Lost and Found: Please check the lost and found on either campus and at the Upper School gym. There are numerous amounts of coats, hoodies, long sleeve T's, lunch boxes, and water bottles that have not been picked up in weeks. At the end of the month of January all items left (without names) will be donated to a local community shelter for the less fortunate. Take this opportunity to label current items not yet lost and check your closet for possible missing items!
It's time to order a 2019-2020 Yearbook! This year both school yearbooks will be published once again by TreeRing. All orders must be placed online. Directions for ordering are below. Make sure to order before March 25th in order to include two custom pages for your child. Go to the website www.treering.com/validate
Enter the school code:

            Lower School code 1015360725533306
            Upper School code 1015360696101128

Make sure you use the correct school code for each of your children, as there are separate books for each campus. If you have questions or any trouble placing your order, please contact Catherine Cox, Librarian at the Upper School, at cox_c@hcde.org

ADD YOUR PHOTOS TO OUR YEARBOOK!
Parents, we need your help to include photos in our yearbook that represent the life of our school this year. If you have any of the following photos, please email a selection of them to cox_c@hcde.org, with a quick description including your child's name, classroom teacher, and the subject.

Your student and their pets
Students on Learning Expeditions
Normal Park sports teams (Upper and Lower)
Class parties such as Read-a-Rama or the 100th Day of School
The Lightning Dash Glow Run
Please join Principal Willmore and SPARK in the Upper School Library before Parent University on February 11th. We will have a quick school update and then yield the floor to District 6 County Commissioner David Sharpe for updates and news from the County and to answer parent questions. This will take place from 5:30 - 6 in the Upper School Library. (Snacks will be served! 🙂)

Spark's 20 in 2020 Campaign is off and running and it is now 19 in 2020 because we received a new recurring donation last week! Please consider setting up a recurring donation if you don't have one. We don't care if you don't schedule the first payment for a few months from now. These payments make it super simple for parents and are a huge help in planning. You can pick the month and day for it to begin and you can cross it off your "To Do" list forever! Thanks!
