The NJCU School of Business and Athletics Department are partnering with the New York Red
Bulls to provide students with a chance to meet with the local soccer franchise’s industry professionals! This will be a great opportunity for Sports Managemen majors and anyone who has an interest in working in professional sports.
Tickets cost $25 and will include:

The Harlem Trip will take place on Monday, May 16. The meeting location will be in front of the John J. Moore Athletics and Fitness Center (JMAC) at 10 a.m. It will include a trip to the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture.

The workshop is targeted to educators of all grade levels: teachers, school librarians, administrators and anyone interested in STEAM education. At NJCU, Commencement provides our students an opportunity to celebrate their academic achievements with family, friends, faculty, alumni, and the entire University community. NJCU’s 2022 Commencement will be held at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J., on Thursday, June 2, 2022.
Specific information regarding submission of a picture, quote, and/or thank you message, and the ability to submit your name for professional recording during the diploma process will be sent to eligible candidates via University email during the Spring 2022 semester.
United States Senator Bob Menendez, the State of New Jersey’s senior senator and a Hudson County native, and New Jersey State Senate Majority Leader M. Teresa Ruiz will receive honorary doctorate degrees. Ruiz will speak during the 11 a.m. ceremony and Menendez at 3 p.m. Read the full announcement in NJCU News!

HUDSON COUNTY COMMUNITY EVENTS

13th annual Hudson TMA Stride & Ride: A Bike Rodeo
Saturday, June 4 | 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.(Rain Date: Saturday, June 18))
Washington Park
Union City, N.J.New York Avenue Entrance (Near Tennis Courts)
Each year, in June, the Hudson TMA provides a fun and interactive outdoor bicycle safety program. Seventy volunteers work with our children at 10 safety stations and obstacle courses affording a unique educational experience. The program is free and the children who wish to participate must have their own bicycle and be accompanied by a guardian.
Family members, parents, and guardians with their own bikes are welcome to join in on the fun and lessons to learn. The rodeo is appropriate for adults as well. In addition to the rodeo, there will be safety and health related information booths, face painting, and games.
Proficient rider? Free bike inspection & test your safety skills.
Must bring your own bike! Bike Rodeo open to all; suggested ages: 9-90,

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND LIFELONG LEARNING (PELL)
Multi-Style String Educators Symposium 2022
August 1-3, 2022
On the heels of last year’s success, the Division of Professional Education and Lifelong Learning (PELL) in partnership with the Music, Dance and Theatre (MDT) Department and its acclaimed faculty, hosts the Multi-Style String Educators Symposium 2022.
Under the direction of electro-acoustic violist Martha Mooke, Director of NJCU Multi-Style Strings, with Special Guest Artists Sweet Plantain String Quartet, participants will learn to play and learn to teach a wide variety of styles, including jazz, Latin, R&B, blues, African, Celtic, bluegrass, folk, and rock. The event will also feature repertoire of varying grade levels and styles, different approaches to improvisation and ways of incorporating electronics with special feature on Latin American music and styles.
The three-day event will be held Monday, August 1 through Wednesday, August 3, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and on August 3, 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. for the dress rehearsal and collaborative concert with Sweet Plantain.

The 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘳𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘭 𝐍𝐉𝐂𝐔 𝐀𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐆𝐨𝐥𝐟 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the Forest Hill Field Club in Bloomfield, N.J. The first two events in 2020 and 2021 were played on perfect fall afternoons and we are excited to continue to build lasting memories with you in 2022.
The NJCU University family is warmly invited to join us to play some golf, enjoy great food and drinks, celebrate memories, and create new ones — all in the name of NJCU Athletics.
