What does it mean to be an emeriti faculty? Many professors are curious about this question but cannot always find role models and mentors to help them see what’s possible. In this conversation Steve Nowicki engages four Duke emeriti faculty colleagues in a conversation on how they bridged the transition to emeriti status and what it means for them now. What aspects of a faculty life remain the same? What changes? What are the opportunities and challenges of this new rank? And how can emeriti faculty remain active and engaged with communities within Duke, their academic disciplines, and beyond?
