Transfer Student Spotlight

Meet Briana Walk! Briana transferred from Macomb Commnity College and is a Sophomore majoring in Children and Families. Briana is a part of CRUISE, FirstGen, SOAR, SSS, and works at U of M ECEC. Throughout these experiences, Briana states that they all have helped her gain experience and support throughout each of her activities on campus. Furthermore, Briana touches on her transfer experience in the virtual setting stating "My time here has been great as an overall experience simply because of the huge support system. This is my first time doing full time virtual learning and I am more connected to my peers than I was in in-person learning." Briana's main advice to you is: "It is ok to try again. I am 31 and gave up so many times before, even last semester. But I didn’t throw in the towel. Your will to succeed will power your drive to get there." With all of her experience so far on campus, Briana's most valuable takeaway is best stated when she takes her time and celebrates the small wins because they all count!
