On behalf of the entire VINSE team, I wish you all a Happy New Year 2026. This semester, VINSE welcomes Professor Matthew Day to our community. The Day Lab, located in ESB, will contribute primarily to the Nano-Optics and Nano-Materials core research thrusts and will strengthen our community’s efforts in quantum materials and applications. Matt has already supported new investments in VINSE infrastructure - a new Heidelberg µMLA Laser Writer will be acquired and installed in the cleanroom later this year, enhancing capabilities for research, teaching, and outreach.
After a successful launch this fall, we are looking to expand the VINSE Industry Affiliates Mentoring Program, which connects students with professionals from our IAP community for career insight and guidance. If you are interested in participating as an industry mentor or student mentee, please reach out to the VINSE administrative team. We also encourage students to regularly check the VINSE Job Board, where new internships, research, and full-time opportunities are being added throughout the semester.
We look forward to another productive and collaborative semester and appreciate the ongoing engagement of all our faculty, students, staff, and partners.
