» Luck Be A Lady A: What a way to kick off an album release! In honor of their new 747 album, Lady Antebellum launched their 7FOR7 project Monday (9/29), in which they fulfill seven wishes for seven fans in seven days. Monday they donated instruments to teacher Vivian Gonzales. Tuesday morning (9/30) they performed on NBC-TV's Today and helped pay for a fan's nursing school. Wednesday (10/1) they surprised nine-year-old Kate Koval with gifts including a trip to Disney World. What will they do the rest of the week? Check their Facebook and Twitter pages for updates!

» Paws For Effect: Miranda Lambert will donate proceeds from her Oct. 4 performance at the Las Vegas Route 91 Harvest Festival to her 7th Annual Cause for the Paws event, which benefits Lambert's MuttNation Foundation. "I am so excited to be playing Vegas to raise money for a cause so dear to my heart," said Lambert. "With your donations we are able to watch happy, healthy dogs being given a second chance at life through adoption." This year's Cause for the Paws includes an already sold-out VIP cocktail party with Lambert Friday (10/3) complete with a live and silent auction with items from Lambert, Blake Shelton, Live Nation and MGM Resorts. There will also be an online eBay auction beginning Friday to coincide with the festivities. Get more info on the festival here; donate to Lambert's charity here.

» Frozen Treat: It's hard to believe the holiday season is almost here – but news that Jennifer Nettles will once again host the ABC-TV special CMA Country Christmas tells us candy canes and Christmas carols are just around the corner. The show tapes in front of a live audience Nov. 7 (air date TBA) at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena. Joining Nettles are performers including Carrie Underwood, Little Big Town, Hunter Hayes and "Let It Go" singer/Broadway star Idina Menzel. "After being the host of CMA Country Christmas for five years now, it is hard to pick one thing I love about it," says Nettles. "Whether it is the performances or duets, getting to perform Christmas songs with great artists is really fun for me. It's really a fun show all around." Attendees are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the taping to be donated to the non-profit group Generosity. Get tickets and see the full lineup here and watch Nettles talk about her favorite show moments here.

» Blake's Boulevard: How do you know you've finally made it country music? Platinum albums? Sold-out tours? Nope – you need a street named after you. Last Tuesday (9/30) Blake Shelton had a road named after him in his hometown of Ada, OK. Ada Mayor Bryan Morris unveiled "Blake Shelton Boulevard" in celebration of his new album Bringing Back The Sunshine. Shelton was unable to attend because of his commitment to The Voice, but he sent his thanks via video. The also town held a "Block Party for Blake," complete with a singing contest and festivities hosted by Shelton's pal, GAC's Nan Kelley. Watch it here via The Ada News.

» Carrie On: Carrie Underwood has topped the country charts 18 times since her 2005 debut single, "Inside Your Heaven." While the complete track listing is TBA, you'll hear the majority of her best-known songs on Greatest Hits: Decade #1 when the album is released Dec. 9. There's also new material on the project, including her current single "Something In The Water." Like "Jesus Take The Wheel," the song is not afraid to celebrate Underwood's faith. Co-written with Chris DeStefano and Brett James, Underwood knew they had something special even as they were writing it. "It is so inspirational," she says. "It's joyous! I can't help but smile when I hear it. I hope it has the same effect on everyone who listens to it."

» Crib Notes: Congratulations to Rascal FlattsJoe Don Rooney and wife Tiffany Fallon, who welcomed their third child, daughter Devon Olivia, Sept. 29.

Congratulations also to Holly Williams and husband Chris Coleman on the birth of daughter Stella June Sept. 30. She's the couple's first child and everyone is doing well.

» Life Note: Our thoughts and prayers are with Grand Ole Opry member Jim Ed Brown, who is battling lung cancer. In a video posted to his Facebook page, Brown told fans he is taking some time off to focus on treatment. "Two weeks ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer," said Brown. "At that time, I was in shock and scared as I didn't know what that really meant. After testing, the doctors have asked me to take the next four months off from touring and to focus on chemotherapy and radiation treatments to shrink the cancer cells. I will keep you all updated on the progress. I am forever grateful for the love, support, and prayers during this time."
