Moores Data Manager Awarded Lean Sigma Six (LSS) Green Belt Scholarship Award
|
Joseph Steidl has been awarded an LSS Green Belt Scholarship Award to streamline the grant data collection process that occurs quarterly at Moores. This data is used for metrics and reporting for the Moores NCI P30 Cancer Center Support Grant and the External Advisory Board. Currently, this process of (1) gathering grant data from UCSD, SDSU, and LJI for approximately 300 Moores Members, (2) cleaning the data, (3) ensuring the quality of the data, and (4) uploading the data to the Moores database takes 4 to 6 weeks. Through the LSS Award, Joseph will create and implement processes to cut this process time in half, which will allow Moores administration to provide more timely updates and high quality information to Moores leadership.

FEATURED FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES |
NCI Research Specialist (Clinician Scientist) Award (R50 Clinical Trial Not Allowed)
|
This award is for clinician scientists who perform NCI-funded clinical trials research. It provides stable research career opportunities for clinician scientists who want to continue to participate in the NCI clinical trials networks through leadership in (1) developing national clinical trials, (2) implementing NCI clinical trials in their institutions, and, (3) providing national service to the NCI clinical trials networks through serving on scientific review committees, monitoring committees, and other activities—not serving as principal investigators of research projects. This award provides salary support and sufficient autonomy so that clinician scientists are not dependent solely on NCI grants held by others or other sources of support, to ensure career continuity.
