What You Need to Know

  • As of today, Lane County has been placed in the "extreme risk" category for COVID-19 under Gov. Kate Brown's new health and safety framework. In this risk category, the following impacts remain in place for the Eugene campus:
    • Student Recreation Center, Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art, and the Museum of Natural and Cultural History remain closed.
    • Non-residential dining remains grab and go. In-person residential dining is permitted following CDC and OHA guidelines.
    • Instruction is remote as already planned.

  • To provide an opportunity to refresh and recharge, university leadership is providing a COVID-19 personal day to eligible employees to be used in the month of December 2020. This is in addition to the special day of leave historically referred to as the governor’s special day of leave. Also, the university is extending time in which employees can use their emergency sick leave to June 20, 2021.

  • The UO Monitoring and Assessment Program has opened up more than 2,000 testing slots for next week. All asymptomatic members of the UO community and residents of Lane County are invited to participate in the screenings. Visit the testing webpage to learn more and register.
Tip of the Week: Your Negative COVID-19 Test Isn't a Free Pass

What is the difference between on-campus, remote, or online classes?
On-campus classes will show a physical location and time in the course listing. On-campus classes may have discussion sections offered both in-person and remotely.
Remote classes will show 00 REMOTE in the location and list a time. These classes normally would be held in-person, but due to current circumstances, have been modified to use alternative course instruction methods. They will have live engagement during scheduled class periods, so be aware of time zone differences if you are not located in the Pacific time zone. Remote classes may also have in-person discussion or lab sections
Online classes will not list a time and will show 00 WEB in the location. These classes are purposefully designed to be delivered completely online. Online classes typically have regular deadlines, but do not require students to meet online or in-person
