Mandatory Spring 2021 Cybersecurity Training is Here!

Since 2020, all USG employees are required to complete cybersecurity awareness training twice annually. KSU conducts the first training throughout the month of April and the second throughout the year as the USG-provided “USG Cybersecurity Awareness Training” available in OwlTrain.

 For the April cybersecurity training, there are TWO options for completion. Employees may either complete a brief online course through OwlTrain (released on Thursday, April 1) or attend a live interactive session. These live 30 minute sessions will be interactive, will also feature an additional 30-minute Q&A session, and will be offered as a virtual meeting. All attendees will receive completion credit for either the online or virtual session and we encourage those that can attend a live session to consider joining us. The sessions are being offered each week in April, at the following dates and times:

 Live Session Dates/Times:
•             Thursday, April 8, 10:00AM-11:00AM
•             Monday, April 12, 11:00AM-12:00PM
•             Tuesday, April 20, 10:00AM-11:00AM
•             Wednesday, April 28, 11:00AM-12:00PM

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra   Decommissioning

UITS is committed to bringing the Kennesaw State University community the best-in-class tools to provide an optimum teaching and learning experience.  As new tools and resources are deployed and improved, we must reassess our product collection. With the increased capabilities of Microsoft Teams as a more robust platform for interactive meetings, UITS will be decommissioning Collaborate Ultra.  New sessions may be recorded in Collaborate Ultra until AUGUST 1, 2021, but users are strongly encouraged to shift to Microsoft Teams Meetings as soon as possible.  Existing videos and chat logs from sessions can be downloaded (until September 30, 2021) and migrated to Kaltura MediaSpace.  On October 1, 2021, all content (sessions and chat logs) in Collaborate Ultra will be automatically deleted and the service will be completely decommissioned from the KSU campus. Microsoft Teams will continue to be available for use after August 1, 2021.  The links below can support users as they make this transition.
