As we begin this new semester together, I am pleased to share a number of updates with you.

I would like to thank our faculty in leadership roles, especially our department chairs, vice chairs, program directors, research center directors, and associate and vice deans. Thank you for all that you do for your department, Steinhardt, and the University. Lorena Llosa, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs
Erin Embry, Steinhardt Chief Operating Officer
Anil Chacko, Chair, Applied Psychology
Lisa Suzuki, Vice Chair, Applied Psychology
Marc Scott, Co-Chair, Applied Statistics, Social Science, and Humanities
Jennifer Hill, Co-Chair, Applied Statistics, Social Science, and Humanities
Nancy Deihl, Chair, Art and Art Professions
Tsu-Hsin Howe, Chair, Occupational Therapy
Let me heartily thank these faculty for taking on these new or continuing leadership roles.
Student Government
We enjoy working closely with our student government leaders, so it is my pleasure to welcome the new Undergraduate and Graduate Student Presidents:
Tanisha Thakkar, President, Undergraduate Student Government (USG)

New Faculty
Scholar-in-Residence
Launched in 2018, the NYU Steinhardt Dean’s Scholar-in-Residence program welcomes distinguished academics, artists, advocates, and other thought leaders to the NYU Steinhardt community to share their expertise; mentor students and faculty; highlight the breadth and depth of the School’s academics, research, and community impact; and emphasize work on equity, belonging, and innovation.
This year, we are proud to announce the residency of Dominique Jackson, a Tobagonian-and-Trinidadian-American actress, author, model, reality television personality, and LGBTQ+ community advocate.
Strategic Planning
I look forward to sharing several new initiatives this Fall as part of my State of the School (SoS) presentations in November. The faculty SoS presentation will take place on November 6th, and the staff and student presentations will take place on November 15th.
As we begin this new semester together, I thank you for being an invaluable part of the NYU Steinhardt community.
