New ‘Top Docs’ updates COVID-19 polling & policy implications
The latest edition of the Medical Association of Georgia’s (MAG) ‘Top Docs’ show addresses new public opinion research and how the COVID-19 pandemic could shape the political landscape in Georgia and the rest of the county – and it updates information that was highlighted on a ‘Top Docs’ show that was posted in April.
The program features Micah Roberts and Jarrett Lewis, who are partners at Public Opinion Strategies – which is a leading national political and public affairs research firm. They discuss…
– Whether Americans believe life is getting back to “normal”
– How confident Americans are about the economy
– How people are getting their information about COVID-19
– Whether the pandemic has become a partisan issue
– How public opinion will affect the health care system
– The public’s attitudes surrounding telemedicine
– The recent social unrest and health disparities
– If people are worried about the manufacturing and supply chains
– Whether the pandemic has changed the work culture in permanent ways
– The defining issues in the upcoming elections
– The presidential and key Congressional races
Public Opinion Strategies has conducted over 10 million interviews with voters and consumers in all 50 states and more than 20 foreign countries. Its portfolio of services includes corporate imaging, community relations, and crisis management research. The firm’s list of clients includes 11 U.S. senators, 46 members of Congress, six governors, and numerous state legislators and local elected officials. The firm is also one of the two firms that conduct the NBC News/Wall Street Journal Poll and the CNBC All-American Economic survey.
Roberts is a regular guest on cable news shows. He has conducted dozens of qualitative studies to test television programs, talent, and commercials (including some that have aired during the Super Bowl) – as well as messaging on a wide range of issues. In addition to his public affairs work, Roberts has conducted political research, including five successful ballot initiatives.
Lewis has conducted research and provided advisory services for large health systems and health care companies, as well as political campaigns. He served as the executive director of Health Policy at The Health Management Academy, a network of executives from the largest hospital systems in the U.S. He regularly speaks to health system and health care company boards and leadership teams. It is also worth noting that Lewis served as a strategist and pollster for the ‘Romney for President Campaign.’
Between downloads and live listeners, ‘Top Docs’ has now reached more than 1.2 million listeners and viewers – which includes people in all 50 states and more than 80 countries. MAG has won two awards for the show, including an American Association of Medical Society Executives Profiles of Excellence Award and a Health Information Resource Center Digital Health Award.
‘Top Docs’ is supported with a grant from Alliant Health Solutions in memory of Tom Williams, its former CEO.
