Dear Coach,
We've collected training opportunities for you and your students as the year winds down and over the summer. Plus, don't miss an exciting chance to watch CNN regulars take on the topic of civil disobedience in a livestreamed public debate. Get started below!
WHAT'S HAPPENING
PF & LD Online Workshops » Your students can join us this August for Lincoln-Douglas and Public Forum Online Topic Workshops to prepare for the September/October topics. When pairing institute learning with intense topic preparation, students get a jump start on understanding the nuances of a resolution and are more prepared for competition. This valuable experience will be led by some of the best debate minds in the country and need-based scholarships are available! To get a discount for signing up three or more students, email steve.schappaugh@speechanddebate.org
CNN Regulars Debate Civil Disobedience » The National Speech & Debate Association is excited to announce the Podius Debates series, made possible by a grant from the Arthur N. Rupe Foundation!
Podius was created to help Americans preserve and strengthen their democratic institutions by championing intelligent and thoughtful civic discourse. The next public debate is Tuesday, April 25, at 7:30 p.m. CT in Des Moines, Iowa. Mark your calendar, as the event will be livestreamed across the country! CNN regulars Bakari Sellers and Kayleigh McEnany will take on one of our favorite topics, Is civil disobedience in a democracy morally justified? This will be a great learning experience for your students!
