APRIL 2020
PRESIDENT'S DESK
Dear Roseman Family,

I hope this message finds all of our students, alumni, faculty, staff and friends well. Our current public health situation is rapidly changing, and local, state and federal guidance offers us daily updates and new changes.

This can all be very unsettling, of course, and feelings of uncertainty seem to be something we all share. Despite this, the work that members of our Roseman University community are doing at home, in the office, in clinics, in labs, or even on Zoom screens, wherever and however they are continuing to learn, work and connect is making a real difference. I am immensely proud of our Roseman family and their actions in the last few weeks.

In just two days, our faculty adapted our complex didactic curriculum to an online format with virtually no interruption to student learning. Our students have transitioned to this new format, and have done so without hesitation or complaint. They remain committed to their educational journey and perhaps now more than ever, can see how the culmination of their journey into their respective health professions are vitally important in times of good health and in times of great need.

Roseman’s service units that support the operations of the University have risen to the occasion to protect our employees, keep them working seamlessly with new forms of technology, keep their benefits and compensation uninterrupted, and to message to them clearly.

Our healthcare providers in our Dental and Orthodontic clinics remain alert, at the ready for any dental emergency, while our Roseman Medical Group providers continue to see patients and conduct telemedicine appointments for those who need it.

Our Cure 4 The Kids Foundation family in Summerlin continues to provide care for their patients, who are among the most fragile and vulnerable at this time.

Some of our faculty healthcare providers are on the frontline, working in pharmacies, at hospitals or in other healthcare environments providing care despite the increased risks they face. Some of them are volunteering to help in the ways that they can. As I said, I truly could not be more proud of our Roseman family.

Likewise, we know our community partners, government officials, local businesses and friends are all doing their own part in their own way to keep our community safe.  We are proud of our Nevada and Utah communities.

As we continue to evaluate the situation, with our Roseman family’s health as our first priority, we will of course continue to provide updates. We expect to reassess the situation in mid-April as we know more from our local, state and federal authorities. In this time, I wish everyone all the best, including rest, good health, and time with families.

Warmly,
Renee Coffman, BS Pharm, PhD
President
