Each year, the Chamber presents the Daniel H. Burnham Award for Distinguished Leadership to an individual who best embodies Daniel Burnham’s philosophy of “make no little plans”.
The 2014 recipient is Alejandro Silva, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Evans Food Group, Inc. As the leader of a global company originally founded in Saltillo, Mexico in 1979, Silva has demonstrated the Daniel Burnham vision for a Chicago business leader by growing his company into the largest producer of pork rinds in the world and one of the largest Hispanic-owned businesses in the country.
Mr. Silva invests in our community through job creation and his involvement in a variety of Chicago civic and charitable organizations, including the Renaissance Schools Fund, the Museum of Science and Industry, the Field Museum of Natural History and the Ravinia Festival.
I encourage you to join us in celebrating Alejandro Silva’s valuable contributions to our city and region at the Daniel H. Burnham Award Dinner on November 19 at the Hilton Chicago.
