On September 17, Class of 2026 students gathered to watch a screening of the 2022 Reality Show. This year’s show was created over the summer by Reality Show casts from the classes of 2017-2022 and offers first-year students advice about navigating Shanghai college life through song, dance, and comedy.
This year’s project focused on the difficulties students might face as they transition back to in-person classes after online learning. Cast members from previous years encouraged students to embrace the challenges and awkwardness of transitioning back to in-person learning: “Struggle is hard, but when you commit yourself to overcome obstacles and embracing the moment, you’ll find a resiliency and a stronger sense of self on the other side,” said Meizhi Ng ’17. Members of the NYU Shanghai community are welcome to watch the show online until September 30th.
