Hello MCRCC Supporter!
In April, we join the national movement to increase sexual violence awareness. This year's national theme is "I Ask." Ask for consent in your personal interactions and have discussions with younger people about asking for consent. Want more information or ideas? Visit the National Sexual Violence Resource Center.
April is also Child Abuse Prevention Month
Our Child Abuse Prevention (CAP) team will have themed display tables at libraries throughout the county. MCRCC will also include child abuse prevention information and statistics on our Cup of Prevention coffee sleeves.
Our Prevention Team created a high school poster campaign! The posters will be on display at our participating schools. For access to the posters, email Prevention@mtryrapecrisis.org.

  • Our MyStrength and My Life high school clubs will host Denim Day and Flag Day events at each school, in addition to running a poster campaign.
    • On Flag Day, students will set up 257 flags on campus to represent the number of sexual assaults that statistically occur within the time frame of a school day. Club members give out info pamphlets and teal ribbons to fellow students.
    • On Denim Day, in addition to wearing jeans, student club members will run an info table, encourage other students to take a stand against sexual violence, pass out denim bracelets, and set up an engaging display on campus.
Have a great month!
