DRI archaeologists to help preserve Nevada's Lost City using drones Nevada’s “Lost City,” located northeast of Las Vegas on a terrace above the Muddy River, has been lost twice before – first abandoned by the native people who built it, then later flooded beneath the waters of Lake Mead – but a team of archaeologists from the DRI’s Las Vegas campus hopes to ensure that it isn’t lost a third time.  Learn more about this project BEHIND THE SCIENCE Meet Josh Sackett, Ph.D. Joshua Sackett, Ph.D., is a postdoctoral researcher with the Division of Hydrologic Sciences at DRI's Las Vegas campus. Josh specializes in the study of microbes that inhabit Earth’s deep subsurface environments in order to better understand how organisms can live independent of sunlight.  Learn more about his research in this profile! Get to know Josh SCIENCE DISTILLED PODCAST Popular lecture series inspires KUNR podcast  Last month, KUNR launched a new podcast based on the Science Distilled lecture series created by DRI and the Terry Lee Wells Nevada Discovery Museum.
