SIMONS FOUNDATION'S $500 MILLION GIFT!
"Today Stony Brook University received a historic and transformational $500 million gift from the Simons Foundation – the largest-ever unrestricted endowment gift made to a U.S. institution of higher education ..."
CommUniversity Day will be held Saturday, September 23, noon to 4 pm. The event provides a platform to showcase the many facets of our campus community through hands-on, interactive activities, entertainment, and thought-provoking presentations for students, employees, neighbors, alumni and friends. View the video on the CommUniversity Day homepage to see past events. Employees and students from across campus, representing any department, are encouraged to participate.
Visitors to the campus will see the Academic Mall transformed into a series of 'neighborhoods,' with themed clusters of activities for engaging and fun learning. There will be concentrated areas for Health, Technology & Discovery, Traditions, Arts, and Safety as well as poster presentations given by students in the 'Find Out in 15' tent, and student performances by the fountain.
Please complete this Call For Participants if you are interested in showcasing your department. Register to participate by August 30 to be included in the CommUniversity Day program. The space is free, and the only requirement is that the content presented is interactive. Questions? Contact Joan Dickinson, CommUniversity Day Executive Director, at joan.dickinson@stonybrook.edu.
