What to know for Summer & Fall teaching
|
Microsoft retires Flip on June 20, 2024 |
Microsoft has recently announced they will decommission access to Flip (previously known as FlipGrid) starting June 20, 2024. On this date, Flip will no longer be available in either mobile app stores or from the Canvas integration, and the Flip.com website will go into view-only mode. While you will no longer be able to create new groups, topics, or videos after this date, you can still download your Flip videos through September 30, 2024.
For more details, please review Microsoft's update on the discontinuation of Flip.
We understand Flip was essential to many faculty members' courses, and this change is abrupt. The Office of Academic Innovation (OAI) is currently researching alternatives to recommend. Please contact our office for assistance in redesigning the parts of your course that relied on Flip.
