DENISON PROUD
Dear Class of ’68 Denisonians,
I am honored to be the sixth President of Denison since your graduation 50 years ago. During that time the college, the faculty, and its students have continued to distinguish themselves in more ways than I have space to detail here.
An inspiring example of these achievements is your class. The leadership, creativity, enthusiasm, and generosity of the Class of 1968, as it prepares to celebrate its 50th Reunion in May, is second to none.
Never have so many classmates said they will or hope to attend their 50th, and never this early in the planning process.
Never has a class designed and created such a comprehensive website to promote its 50th Reunion. Never has there been a monthly newsletter, preparing the way, like this Reunion Bite.
Never have we published a class Celebration Book with so many entries, including deceased classmates, as what we are preparing for you now.
And never have we seen such enthusiastic and early commitment of financial support to Denison as we are now seeing from your class.
Denison is a great college and a recognized leader among American liberal arts colleges, built upon traditions that came before and followed after you graduated. I am proud and honored to welcome you back to campus and to celebrate the great class of 1968. Thank you for being part of the Reunion and for your loyalty to Denison.
The Class of 1968 is exemplified by five outstanding members we will honor in Swasey Chapel during Reunion Weekend with Alumni Citations: Ginny Coombs, James Gordon, Jeanne Hoffman, James Quarles, and Marnie Sarver.
I very much look forward to meeting each one of you when you come back in May. You are part of the reason I can unabashedly say, “I am Denison Proud.”
