Loss of water pressure due to a leaky pipe or water main break may allow backflow of pollutants/contaminants into the water system. Here are two ways you can help prevent contamination from occuring:

1. Keep hoses out of soapy water, hot tubs or pools. Water & contaminants could back up into the hose and the plumbing system.
2. Never use your water hose to spray lawn chemicals or pesticide. Chemical residue in the hose could potentially get into the drinking water.
