Lutheran Summer Music Announcement
Dear Valpo Community,
Valparaiso University is once again blessed to be the home of Lutheran Summer Music (LSM). The Chapel and other buildings continue to ring with songs of worship and praise. I encourage you to join this unique community for worship and recitals. This is a rare opportunity that you should not miss. You can find a link to the event schedule and livestream here. I guarantee you will not regret making time to experience LSM!
Valpo has had the privilege of hosting Lutheran Summer Music for the past nine years, the longest residency in LSM’s 42-year history. This is a testament to our shared commitment to Lutheran worship and music, and a source of pride for our community. It's a reflection of the strong bond we share with LSM.
LSM began in 1982 as an itinerant program and has since been hosted at nine different colleges and universities, sometimes moving every year. Valparaiso University — campus and community — remain a foundational part of LSM’s program and history. We will continue our strong partnership going forward through shared admissions initiatives, shared faculty members, and the program's return to Valpo’s campus in the future.
What a unique gift it has been to have Lutheran Summer Music at Valpo these past nine years. As we look back, please join me in showing appreciation to LSM by attending their events this summer and keeping the community in your prayers. It may be a little while before we have the opportunity to welcome them back, so take advantage of enjoying LSM while they are on our campus.
You can help support the program by encouraging young people to register for next summer's edition of Lutheran Summer Music with this link.
All glory be to God for the gifts of music, community, and faith!
