We heard you and TRIVIA NIGHT IS BACK on Friday, April 5 at 6pm at Daily Ration. The theme this year is time travel – get your team together and travel back in time to your favorite decade or historical era. Cleopatra, disco, roaring 20s or King Henry VIII should all make an appearance. As always prizes will be given for best team name best dressed and new this year – best table décor! ART NEWS
🎨Dr. Robertson has asked that we display student work at the upcoming State of the System event on February 13. They have asked for artwork from all Hamilton County learning communities, and we’re proud to send artwork created by the following students:

🎨Congrats to the students whose work was chosen for the Bessie Smith Art Contest. If your child’s work is in the contest, they received a paper with this information last week. The event takes place on 2/10/24 from 10-3:00. Mrs. Hardin will be there to congratulate your students, take photos and celebrate any awards (TBA). Here is the list of names

LIBRARY NEWS- Lower*Ms. Locke is looking for some volunteers to help in the library. She is flexible on time. If you are interested please contact her at locke_cynthia@hcde.org
Don’t forget to read for 20 minutes a day!!! Students who complete their reading logs and turn them in will have their names entered into a grade level drawing for monthly prizes. There will be another drawing at the end of January.

Event to promote STEM (girls in grades 6-12)
ChaTech Women announces the return of the STEM for Her event, set for Feb. 24 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga State Community College Gerald McCormick Center. This event, now in its second year, is part of a series of celebrations during National Engineers Week, designed to inspire and empower the next generation of women leaders in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).

Thursday, February 15th 5:00 PM at Highpoint downtown.
🏀Elementary Basketball tournament: We have two teams remaining in the North Hamilton basketball league. The 5th grade boys play in the semi final game Thursday, 7:45 @ Loftis Middle and 2nd/3rd grade boys team has a semi final game on Friday, 7:10pm @ Hixson Middle School. If they win their games they will have championship games on Saturday.

Normal Park will Co-op with CSAS for girls Softball. Tryouts will be 2/8 and 2/9 from 4:30-5:45 at Rivermont Ballfields

For any 6-8th grade boys and girls interested in Golf, please fill out the information sheet in the front office with Karin Hawkins. There will be an official meeting the week of Feb 7th.
⚽BOYS SOCCER⚽
Boys' Soccer tryouts will be Monday, February 12th and Tuesday, February 13th from 3:15-5:00 PM. 🏃♀️MS TRACK AND FIELD🏃 Tryouts will be held February 20-22 from 3:15-4:45 pm . Please plan on attending each day. We will meet behind Normal Park Upper School on the athletic field. Bring a water bottle and dress for physical activity. The final team roster will be posted on the Normal Park school website on Friday, February 23rd. Practices will begin the following week and will be Monday- Thursday from 3:15- 4:45. Campus Reminders and Policy
♦All visitors must bring their Driver's License when entering the building to volunteer or dismiss a student during the school day.
Electronics policy: Per school board, Upon a student's arrival in the building, all electronics, cell phones, headphones, and smart watches should not be seen or heard during the school day and kept in a locker or backpack. First violation: The device is confiscated and parent must pick up or held for 3 days.
Playground Reminders:
The playground is open to the public after 6 PM and on weekends.
Animals are not allowed on campus, the playground or field at any time.
