In this issue: Sesame Street, 311, and Good Will Hunting, oh my!
Week 5:Opening the Ludgates edition.
All masked up.
Don’t know what to do? Wear on the side of caution, as far as we’re concerned. Given the fluid nature of face-covering recommendations, we truly appreciate your diligence and patience with on-campus mask guidance. One thing’s for sure: indoor masking is here to stay for a while.
So, step your mask game up! In next week’s edition, we’ll provide details on when and where you can pick up the winning student-designed masks (one and two) from our Triton DYO contest earlier in the quarter.
Sweepin' the clouds away.
We’re positively chuffed to tell you how to get to Sunny Days, a six-day virtual festival with a pretty ridiculous lineup, if we’re being honest. The hit-makers in ASCE were able to pull Omar Apollo and K-pop singer Eric Nam, as well as comedy from Hasan Minhaj and April Ludgate herself, Aubrey Plaza. More acts are being finalized soon for the series which kicks off on May 10 with EDM artist, Gryffin.
Celebrate, grad times.
Come on! The Colleges have got more than a few ‘senior moments’ lined up for Spring Quarter. Graduating Tritons: take advantage of a variety of activities designed to help you celebrate, connect (virtually) with your peers, and transition to life post-undergrad. Congrats; you’ve earned it.
You are now free to move about the globe.
Because you can’t spell ‘nice’ without NIE. Earlier this week, the State department expanded National Interest Exception eligibilities to all countries subject to a geographic COVID-19 ban. What it means: International Tritons may no longer face travel restrictions. Learn more about this and other immigration policy updates on ISPO’s website.
Townies welcome.
We haven’t heard back from Ben and Matt just yet, but the next Student Town Hall on May 4 will take place with or without their RSVP. Check out yesterday’s campus notice for more, including a link to register and pre-submit questions to be answered by our panel of experts and administrators. How do you like them apples?
May 1 kick a little something for the g’s?
You may, especially if it’s a bad habit that’s detrimental to your mental health. There’s no time like the present, as tomorrow marks the beginning of Mental Health Awareness Month. Take a look below at some of the programming and resources that the Student Health and Well-Being team has in store, and check out their calendar of events.
Walk this way. On May 1 (tomorrow), the Out of the Darkness walk on campus aims to raise awareness and funding in support of suicide prevention among individuals aged 15-24.
Nothing’s easier during a pandemic (except pulling off cas-leisure wear, and even that’s a stretch). For strategies to help with anything from forging meaningful relationships to getting a decent night’s sleep, we urge you to check out CAPS’ free daily drop-in workshops and group forums. International? My Student Support Program is available 24/7, wherever you are.
So fresh and so green.
