Where's my Summer CCPG?

The California College Promise Grant (CCPG) fee waiver works a bit differently during the summer session in regards to timing:
Your CCPG will post and waive your enrollment fees within 48 hours after registering for any summer course IF you are eligible to receive the award.
Please note that students will not be dropped for nonpayment. A hold will be placed on a student's account until the balance is paid off, but will not be dropped from their courses.

The CCPG only covers enrollment fees. Log in to your myGateway account after the CCPG posts to pay your remaining balance online.

How will I know if I qualify for Pell Grant for summer?

Summer Pell Grant eligibility depends on a few factors: SAP, Pell Grant received during the year, summer enrollment, and EFC.
  • Students will receive their Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) status notice via email prior to the start of the summer session.
  • If a student has already received their full amount of Pell Grant (enrolled in 12+ units during both fall 2021 & spring 2022):
    • Student must enroll in at least 6 units to qualify for additional Pell Grant during summer 2022.
  • If a student has not received all of their Pell Grant from fall and/or spring (was enrolled less than 12 units in fall and/or spring), then the student may be able to receive the remaining Pell Grant if enrolled in less than 6 units.
    • If your EFC is between 5200 and 5846, you may need to be enrolled in at least 9 units to qualify for a Pell Grant disbursement.

What is the summer 2022 Freeze Date?

If you are enrolled (or plan to enroll) in a summer course, the last day to add a class for Pell Grant is June 13, by 11:59 p.m. Any classes added after this time will not be eligible for Pell Grant funds.
Please refer to the summer disbursement schedule for additional information.
Financial Aid Disbursement Schedule: Freeze Date is June 13,2022. You must add or drop classes by 11:59pm on June 13th..

Balancing your schoolwork & personal life

We encourage you to consider only taking the amount of units that you believe you can successfully complete during the summer session  and also still be able to relax and enjoy your summer!
If this will be your first time taking a summer class, consider taking just one class at a time as the summer session moves at a much faster pace than fall and spring. Oftentimes, students who enroll in more than one class per session feel overwhelmed midway through. If you're unsure, you can meet with an academic counselor to discuss your options and help figure out what may work best for you.
