Meet the TechGrant '23 Winners!

We proudly sponsored the 2023 TechGrant Pitch Night Competition last Thursday. This sponsorship is a community investment that promotes technology commercialization and diversifies the local economy by creating new technology companies that offer high-wage, skilled jobs in #FLCapital4Biz! There were five finalists in total, but the two companies below pitched their ideas the best.

| First Place Winner | $15,000
Piersica is developing a next-generation solid-state power source that can provide a safer, more efficient, and more effective power source than current standard Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) batteries.

Second Place Winner | $10,000
SX Technologies is redefining sexual health through innovation and conversation. They are developing the first Rapid Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Urine Test.

The Innovation Park Technology Commercialization Grant (TechGrant) program was launched in 2005 to support the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Leon County. Since then, 35 companies have benefited from $562,000 in grants awarded for the commercialization of their technologies. Many of those companies are still flourishing in the local community today.
