Campus moves toward healing with removal of panels

In a moving ceremony led by tribal elders and campus leaders, the three history panels that inaccurately depicted the federal Fort Lewis Indian Boarding School experience were removed from the Clocktower.

FLC Computer Engineering student brings fresh perspective to CU 

Jesse Duran, a senior majoring in Computer Engineering, spent 10 weeks at CU Boulder this summer, researching and working alongside optics faculty who were impressed with the academic culture Duran brought from Fort Lewis College.  

Marketing team wins graphic design awards

At the 2021 UCDA Design Awards, the FLC Marketing & Communications team fetched four coveted distinctions for their creative works in photography, logo designs, and illustrations.

Alumni pedal their way to LeadBoat podium 

Cyclists know how to endure some good suffering and one of the toughest races may be a new quasi-informal competition in Colorado. The LeadBoat Challenge, a linkage of two well-known bike races, celebrated Sarah Sturm (Art, '12) and Payson McElveen (Exercise Science, ’16) with podium finishes last weekend.

That's hawksome

Professor of Art & Design Amy Wendland received a merit award for Sphinx Moon, a colored pencil and watercolor piece she created around a discarded sample from the Fort Lewis College Herbarium. 
Wendland's artwork was a part of the Bigleaf Magnolia Art and Garden Festival "Flower Encounters" botanical art exhibit and contest.
