Postdoctoral Scholar, Jing Peng, examines health disparities amid COVID-19 pandemic in new publication
In a recent publication, Jing Peng, postdoctoral researcher within the Lucy Family Institute for Data & Society's postdoctoral research community, collaborated with researchers from Hubei University and Rutgers University to consider the impact of governmental and social responsiveness on health disparities during a pandemic.
The results indicate that minority representation in local commissions may influence local governments’ responsiveness to disparities, and also demonstrates that in counties with greater racial socioeconomic equality, community social capital increases the racial disparities.
