The Sonoran Institute seeks to connect people living throughout the North American West, including Tucsonans, with the natural resources that nourish and sustain them. Their vision is to create a future where communities have access to reliable sources of clean water, clean air, and clean energy, open spaces, and the opportunity give back to the natural environment in a meaningful way. They work at the nexus of commerce, community and conservation, and believe that collaboration and civil dialogue are hallmarks of decision making. Community involvement is what makes protecting the Santa Cruz River, restoring the Colorado River delta in Mexico, or building community resilience in fast growing regions like the front range of Colorado possible.
