Dear Coach,

As your team's advisor, a crucial part of your role is to register your students for their lifetime membership in the National Speech & Debate Association! To register your students, simply log in and visit your account page, select School Roster, and add students to your roster. Additional information and step-by-step video instructions for adding students to your roster can be found on our roster management FAQ page.

When you sign up your students, they receive the following benefits:

1. RECOGNITION

Of the honor societies in which students can earn recognition, ours—the National Forensic League—is one of the oldest and largest. Since 1925, we’ve offered a tiered recognition approach that allows students at various levels of success to earn distinction. The history of our honor society means it's established and well-respected by college admissions officers.

2. HONOR SOCIETY POINTS
When student members compete or perform speaking-related acts of service, they earn honor society points. Entering points can help motivate students to stick with the competition, even if they are experiencing losses or difficulty from time to time.

3. PART OF THE COMMUNITY
Once they are a lifetime member, your students will receive a monthly email connecting them to speech and debate opportunities and resources. Our student members spearhead local events for National Speech and Debate Education Day , are eligible to be Academic All Americans, and have access to online resources at their fingertips, just to name a few.

Add your students to your membership roster and purchase their membership so they can begin to receive their benefits today. You can then select any or all students to purchase membership right away, or visit your school profile page and choose to be auto billed for each student's membership when they earn 25 honor society points.
