Seton Hall is now accepting applications for the , where the top 5 student research projects from each of the 11 Big East schools will compete at Madison Square Garden for a chance to medal as a top researcher in the Big East Conference this March. This is for undergraduate researchers enrolled as an undergrad in Spring 2026 (any major or discipline) working with a faculty research mentor at SHU. Apply by November 4, 2025.

On October 25, DiwaliFest NJ will return to Memorial Park Amphitheater (145 Dunnell Road, across from the Maplewood Train Station) for its 8th annual celebration of Diwali — the Festival of Lights, one of the most cherished and widely celebrated holidays across South Asia. Organized by SOMA Cross Cultural Works, this festival symbolizes hope, renewal, and the power of community coming together, with a colorful lineup of performances, activities, and cultural showcases representing South Asia’s rich artistic traditions. 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

October 26 is Spooky Spiotta at Spiotta Park with a costume contest with prizes from local businesses, an interactive Halloween obstacle course, themed games, and trick-or-treat stations throughout the park. All activities are free and open to all ages. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
