Enter the Staff Council Costume Contest by Nov. 3

Show off your spooky, creative or just plain fun costumes in this year’s Staff Council Costume Contest. Staff may enter as individuals or as a group by snapping a photo in costume and emailing it to staffcouncil@umkc.edu by Nov. 3. All submissions will be entered for a chance to win a prize.

Staff Council Fall Wellness Series

Nov. 7

The Fall 2025 Wellness Series will be held Nov. 7, offering UMKC staff opportunities to build community, de-stress and explore new approaches to wellness. Activities include light breakfast and crafting in the Health Sciences Building and Miller Nichols Library, along with five virtual wellness presentations throughout the day.

Advance registration is encouraged, but walk-ins are welcome. Learn more and register today.

Staff Council Scholarship Application Open Until Dec. 1

The UMKC Staff Council Staff Scholarship application is now open for spring 2026. Eligible applicants must be full-time UMKC employees pursuing an undergraduate, graduate, professional or doctoral degree at UMKC. Applicants must maintain full-time employment status throughout the academic award year, be enrolled in at least one credit hour and be eligible for UM System educational assistance.

Next UMKC Staff Council Meeting: Nov. 5 at 8:30 a.m.

All staff are welcome to attend Staff Council meetings. Staff Council typically meets the first Wednesday of each month from 8:30 to 10 a.m., both in person and via Zoom.

The next general body meeting is scheduled for Nov. 5 in Bloch Heritage Hall, Room 006, and via Zoom. Chancellor Agrawal will attend this meeting and breakfast will be provided.

The final fall 2025 meeting will be held Dec. 3.

Attendees are encouraged to dress for monthly themes for a chance to win a raffle prize: November—fall/autumn theme; and December—ugly sweater theme.
