Report Card Pick-up

Greetings MLK Families,
As you are aware, the 1st 9 week grading period ended on Thursday, October 1st.  Grades were finalized in Schoology on Monday, October 12th and were uploaded into Infinite Campus on Tuesday, October 13th.
You may therefore view your child’s 1st 9 week grades electronically through Schoology or Infinite Campus.  If you haven’t already set up a parent account through either platform, you will need to do so in order to access your child’s grades and other information.  For Schoology, you will need a parent access code that was shared by your child’s 1st period teacher in August.   Please contact your child’s 1st period teacher if you need this code again.  Most families have previously set up a family portal account in Infinite Campus.  If so, your former username and password should still be active.  For families new to MNPS, you will need an activation key to set up an account in the parent portal of Infinite Campus.  Please email Bettina.Vasser@mnps.org for your child’s activation key.
Lastly, if you would prefer to receive a paper copy of your child’s 1st 9 week report card, the curb side Report Card distribution schedule is below by grade, date, time and alphabet.  Please fill out the following short (3-question) SURVEY if you plan to do an in-person pick-up so that we can make sure to have your child’s report card ready ahead of time.
Curb side pick-up will take place in front of the College Center on Jo Johnston Avenue. Please drive as if you are going toward Head Middle Magnet School for curb side pick-up traffic flow.

Volleyball

Lady Royals Volleyball

Martin Luther King Jr. Lady Royals came ready to serve, set, and spike the volleyball as they defeated East Nashville Magnet to win the District Volleyball Championship. The teams battled it out in five matches with MLK winning three. This historical moment and the win marks the first volleyball championship for the magnet high school.

CONGRATULATIONS LADIES-We are so proud of you!
The Lady Royals success was not matched without the dedicated and hardworking of assistant coach Tonè Gill, freshman coach Courtney Brown and head coach Fallan Lloyd, who was named District Coach of the Year. Also, freshman Megan Schelling was named District Tournament Most Valuable Player.

Congratulations MLK on a successful season!

MLK -- National Merit Semifinalists at MLK

MLK has 8 students that have achieved National Merit Semifinalist status.
Over 1.5 million students in the Class of 2021 took the PSAT and less than 1% achieved Semifinalist status.  Their achievement is both exciting and commendable.  We congratulate the following students for their accomplishment of National Merit Semifinalist status.
James (London) Craddock
Sophia Hackett
Joshua Halevi
Joseph Hallum
Parwan Ahmed Machingal
Vishnu Pratap
Nancy (Sophia) Tennent
Jacob Williams
Each student is eligible for selection as a finalist and could be named one of 7,600 National Mert Scholars based on “their skills, accomplishments, and potential for success in rigorous college studies,” according to a news release.
Again, congratulations to the students who have achieved this great academic honor!
