The Jewish Federation of Greater Washington has named former FBI executive Russell H. “Rusty” Rosenthal as its new Executive Director, Regional Security, beginning in November 2023. Rosenthal and his
team will oversee and work to ensure the safety and security of the Jewish community in Washington, DC, suburban MD, and Northern VA. This new, in-house hire enhances Federation’s local security capacity with the launch of an independent, internal base of operations, and builds upon five years of partnership with Secure Community Network.

World Premiere: The Chameleon
Federation partner, Edlavitch DCJCC's Theatre J, is kicking off the season with the world premiere of The Chameleon, a new play by Jenny Rachel Weiner. As EDCJCC CEO, Jen Zwilling, notes, "We all need superheroes right now – both real and imaginary ones – to inspire us and to motivate us to channel our superpowers to be proudly Jewish, to stand up for Israel and the Jewish people, and to care for so many innocent people in harm’s way."

Join Federation partner, Milton Gottesman Jewish Day School, and PJ Library of Greater Washington to explore the nature of giving back to the community. Participate in a community service project, learn about tikkun olam (repairing the world), and meet like-minded families in the area. Most appreciated by kids 3-6 years old.
