The Mayor’s Cup Challenge 2025 is here, and it’s time to see which university can raise the most dollars and BEAT MALONE! Beginning Super Bowl Sunday and continuing, Feb. 9-11, Cav Nation has the chance to make an impact by supporting our more than 750 scholar-athletes. Every donation fuels our athletes’ success on and off the court. Check out the hype video featuring a boxing showdown between our university presidents—coached by Mayors Stephen Wilder and William Sherer. Walsh University students are invited to connect with local businesses, trade representatives, and military branches at the 3rd Annual Opportunity Fair, hosted by North Canton City Schools. This event is open to area students and community members and will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. at Hoover High School Gymnasium (525 7th St. NE, North Canton). Explore opportunities in fields such as health sciences, business management, education, public safety, and more. Meet with vendors like the Stark County Health Department, Huntington National Bank, the U.S. Secret Service, the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, and others. Dr. Chris Seeman, Professor of Theology and Chair of the Division of Humanities, will lead a thought-provoking discussion titled “Does Philosophy Still Matter?” with special guest Dr. Peter Koritansky, Professor of Philosophy & Religious Studies at the University of Prince Edward Island, Canada, an internationally known Catholic philosopher.

WU’s Got Talent is back and better than ever! After a successful event last year, we are excited to highlight the incredible talent within the Walsh community. The competition will feature first, second, and third-place winners, along with a Cavalier Fan Favorite. Whether you sing, dance, juggle, or have another unique skill, now is your chance to take the stage and compete for amazing prizes. President Tim Collins joined a group of 100 presidents and board chairs from globally renowned colleges and universities last week to participate in the 10th Annual Yale School of Management Higher Education Leadership Summit where he spoke as a respondent and participated in lively discussions surrounding the ever-changing higher education landscape. Following the event, President Collins attended a special reception at the residence of Ireland’s Ambassador to the US, H.E. Geraldine Byrne Nason, where he engaged with diplomats as well as the President of Mary Immaculate College, Dermot Nestor as part of Walsh’s ongoing commitment to forging strategic partnerships.

Last night, alumni spanning three decades of professional experience put Walsh students’ detective skills to the test at The Masked Major. Disguising their identities, Style Henry ’22 ’24, Austin “AJ” Hanna ’15, and Dave Frank ’03 shared how their degrees in Exercise Science, AYA: Integrated Math, and History paved the way for successful careers as a Client Solutions Specialist, Actuary, and Marine veteran. Students competed to guess each alum’s major and career before the big reveal, with prizes awarded for correct guesses.

Congratulations to five Walsh University students who performed in the 2025 Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association Honors Festival at Ashland University from January 25-26, 2025. The Honors Concert Band was comprised of 75 music students selected from 15 private college music programs across Ohio. Walsh Director of Bands Thomas Roblee conducted Trumpets Eternally Sounding by Rocky Reuter, a performance dedicated to Nancy Ditmer, founding member of the organization and exemplary advocate of music education at local, state, and national levels.
