CU Grow, Clemson’s staff development program, is welcoming a new cohort of participants for professional growth, collaboration and impact. This year, 10 staff members from across the University will spend the next several months engaged in more than 150 hours of experiential learning, workshops, skill development and volunteer service.
The Center for Career and Professional Development presented by Michelin invites faculty and staff to the Spring Career Fair, scheduled for February 16-19 in Littlejohn Coliseum, to join team members from 10-11 a.m. each day for a special networking session to further strengthen academic-industry partnerships.

Gilbert Miller, retired Clemson Extension vegetable specialist, has received the Order of the Palmetto, the state’s highest civilian honor. Presented during the South Carolina Watermelon Association’s annual meeting, the Order of the Palmetto recognizes a lifetime of extraordinary achievement, service and contributions to the state.
The Humanities Hub’s annual Lectures in Law and Humanities Series, sponsored by Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC, returns with a focus on First Amendment rights. The keynote lecture, “The First Amendment and Lincoln’s Constitutional Legacy,” will be delivered by professor emeritus Orville Vernon Burton on March 5 at 5 p.m. in the Watt Auditorium.

Jill Shelnut is a senior lecturer in the Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education, where she focuses on providing preservice early childhood education teachers with the knowledge, skills and dispositions to support young children and their families from birth through age eight. A “triple Tiger,” Shelnut shares how she finds success giving her students – and herself – permission to act like a five-year-old.

Clemson University researchers are invited to submit proposals to fund research projects aimed at reducing energy usage in buildings and improving the health of building occupants. Up to $400,000 is available for the 2026-27 funding period. Proposals are due Friday, February 27.
