Hello Spring!

I just told my dog Grace that today would be a busy day. Am I really talking to a dog?

For all I know she was empathizing, thinking ahead about her own day filled with meals, naps, walks and hiding her favorite well-chewed toys in the clean laundry basket. That wasn’t what I meant about a busy day. But she was paying attention whatever the interpretation.

Grace always seems to be paying attention. Of course, it intensifies when I’m in the kitchen. But that doesn’t mean she’s not tuned-in elsewhere and at other times. It’s no wonder that I talk to her as if she understands. She hears me and responds.

Her calming, gentle, reassuring presence is comforting on grey days and her antics bring me joy all the time. She’s easy-going and pleased to be wherever she is. I admire her ability to give affection consistently and to live fully in the present moment. I have the feeling that she’s not lost in her thoughts of past and future the way I am.

Grace is never too busy to snuggle and is happy to rest when I do. If I’m not feeling well, she’ll come over and lick my forehead. She’ll try to get to my lips but that’s not happening. When it’s time for a walk and I’m pleased to get outside, she is too, likely for different reasons.

It’s warm, peaceful joy to simply rest quietly in Grace’s company and yes, to talk to her. She’s an always available buddy who shows me how to be attentive, in the moment, affectionate and gentle without saying a word.
Dog Talker,
Jane

THE GODDARD SCHOOL

Here in historic Bala Cynwyd, the St. Matthias School is being rejuvenated! This long-dormant and vintage schoolhouse will once again thrive as a center for early childhood education. The sounds of youngsters will very soon fill these renovated and modern classrooms!

Behind this exciting venture are The Goddard School and on-site owner Jodi Straub. Widely and nationally recognized, The Goddard School is renowned for providing children and their families innovative, experience-based and time-trusted foundations. For a remarkable 30 years, The Goddard School has been assertively regarded as the leader in early childhood education.

Within the walls of this remarkably recrafted schoolhouse will be a results-proven framework called the F.L.EX.® Learning Program (Fun Learning Experience). Shaped by Goddard’s Educational Advisory Board and purposefully implemented every day, the program provides the best preparation for social and academic success.

Mrs. Straub’s Goddard School will include a brand-new, age-appropriate triple playground. Sectioned into three areas, the playground will have two educationally enhanced play structures as well as a junior-sized soccer field.

Actively enrolling children and hiring teachers, they invite families and educators to inquire and visit!

Ma is a sweet and affectionate regal beauty who needs time with you before she opens up. But when she does, you'll see she's as beautiful inside as she is outside. Her expressive brown eyes communicate her loving nature. She has a short coat, so no trips to the groomer for this girl! She loves to fetch and could play for hours.
Sweetheart Ma was abandoned after giving birth and parting with many litters. She would do best as the only pet in a home with older children or just adults.
