Advocacy in Action: Student-Supported Causes from Galveston to Austin

Texas A&M University at Galveston students are the future of Texas politics and are proving their political prowess through advocacy. Galveston students traveled to Austin in February for Orange and Maroon Legislative Day, or OMLD, a biennial event hosted by the Association of Former Students and Texas Exes to advocate at the Capitol for the rival universities’ shared interests.

Thanks to our amazing guests, the 8th Annual Mardi Gras Parade & Viewing Party was a roaring success! Hosted at and underwritten by the Tremont House, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel...attendees enjoyed dinner, dancing and a balcony view of the Knights of Momus Grand Night Parade, complete with Texas A&M Maritime Academy cadets marching down the Strand.

| Galveston Gets the Gold: Aggie Ring Statue Arrives on Campus
|
The Galveston Campus is now home to its very own Aggie Ring statue. The 8-foot bronze replica features two Aggie Rings, one with a class year of 1966 for the first graduating class of the campus and the other with a class year of 1975 in honor of the first graduating class that allowed women and Black students admission.

| Women Making Waves: Celebrating Women's History Month at Texas A&M University at Galveston

Texas A&M University at Galveston is celebrating Women’s History Month all month long! Several campus and local organizations came together to organize events, including Her Campus, the Sisterhood of University Leaders (SOUL), Save Our Seas, Career and Counseling Services, the Office of Student Activities, Student Government Association, Resource & Crisis Center of Galveston County and the Office of Student Intercultural Learning & Engagement (SILE).

With Summer Sea Term 2023 fast approaching, the Texas A&M Maritime Academy announced several events both locally in Galveston and in our ports of call! This summer, cadets will sail from Galveston to Willemstad, Curaçao; Savannah, Georgia; San Juan, Puerto Rico; New Orleans, Louisiana and back to Galveston.
