Launching Youth Potential: Enrollment Opens for 4-H Space Camp |
Positive Youth Development - Marie Witzel
Wisconsin 4-H Space Camp offers youth in grades 6–8 an exciting, hands-on introduction to space science, engineering, and teamwork. Held in Huntsville, Alabama—home of the U.S. Space & Rocket Center—this immersive program gives participants the chance to experience simulated space missions, explore space training simulators, and even build and launch their own model rockets. Throughout the week, youth strengthen problem-solving skills, curiosity, communication, and confidence as they work together just like real mission crews. Space Camp not only sparks interest in STEM fields, but also helps young people discover their own potential through challenge, discovery, and adventure.

These conditions supported consistent growth and maturation across trial locations, allowing for reliable performance comparisons among varieties. While we don’t have estimates from USDA due to the government shutdown, yields are likely above trend and approaching state record levels in some areas.
