Dear Seton Hall Community,
On November 7, Americans are presented with an opportunity to cast ballots in state, county and local elections. There are many important reasons to partake in this fundamental democratic act.
By voting, we help shape the communities where we live, learn and work. While federal races generate the most interest, American life is affected just as much — if not more — by contests that are closer to home. Taking advantage of every opportunity to vote, including this and other “off-year” general elections, is a responsibility of advanced citizenship.
Voting every year reaffirms the role of elections as the foundational act of democratic societies and the idea that America’s future should be determined at the ballot box.
As a reminder, polls in New Jersey are open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Bethany Hall will serve as a polling place for South Orange voting districts 1 and 12.
Casting your vote takes little time and effort, but its positive effects on society are incalculable.
