Timber Takes Hollywood
In 2018, we had the privilege of featuring Chelsea Corneliuson and her dog Timber as she and fiancé Doug were expanding their dog training business. Timber, a German Shepherd, had mastered protection training including bite work like you would see a police dog undergo.
Timber, with the help of an agent, has been booked on two popular police dramas on CBS. Chelsea hadn’t really considered working with TV shows. “It was never a thought. We kind of fell into it,” Chelsea recounts. The breeder of Chelsea’s horse works in the industry on movies that feature horse-drawn carriages and a conversation about Timber led to a referral. They were open to listening to us telling them what the best way for the dog to do the scene in as little shots as possible,” Chelsea said.
Timber has since expanded his acting repertoire to include the hit show Blue Bloods, now in its 10th season on CBS. This time Timber got to be a smart but feisty dog with a knack for stopping bad guys all on his own. Nicknamed Jamko in the show, Timber made quite the impression on his on-screen costars Jamie (Will Estes) and Eddie (Vanessa Ray).
Will we see Timber again on the small screen? Chelsea said, “We shall see! The last scene was cute. He got his own doghouse in the precinct. The episode shot a few months before it aired, then COVID-19 put a stop on all production of TV shows in NYC. Blue Bloods was awesome to work with. The entire cast and crew were great people. We loved working with them, and so did Timber.”
For now, Timber’s acting career may be on hold, but the future looks bright for this fury guy. Chelsea said “We were headed to NYC a couple weeks ago to start filming with Timber and another one of our dogs, but that was the same day production got shut down due to COVID-19. It takes a lot of time to train dogs and my other dogs aren’t as advanced as Timber, so whoever follows in his footsteps has some big shoes to fill! Well, big paws to fill."
