LESSONS ON INTERCONNECTEDNESS FROM MY VIRTUAL INTERNSHIP

This summer [2020] I am completing a virtual internship with the Minneapolis Public Schools as an extension of the Urban Scholars Cohort. Both of these offices are housed in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I am working remotely from Nassau, The Bahamas. If I’ve learned anything this year, it’s how to embrace and practice global awareness. Read more.

From the Office of National and International Fellowships (ONIF)

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship Program provides study abroad scholarships of up to $8,000 for undergraduate students who are Pell-Grant recipients. Gilman is currently seeking applicants whose in-person or virtual programs start between May 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022. This cycle encompasses Summer 2021, Fall 2021, Academic Year 2021-2022, and Spring 2022 programs. The application deadline is Tuesday, March 2, 2021 at 11:59pm Pacific Time. Fulbright U.S. Student Program Introductory Webinar on Feb. 1 at 5:00 p.m. PT- The Fulbright U.S. Student Program offers fully-funded research, study and teaching opportunities in over 140 countries to recent graduates and graduate students (with U.S. citizenship). During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. LMU undergraduate and graduate students of all majors are invited to learn more about the 2022-2023 program. Register here to attend.
Scholarships for Graduate Study in the UK & Ireland on Feb. 10 at 6:00 p.m. PT- Students and alumni are invited to attend an information session on Fulbright UK/Ireland Partnership Awards, Gates Cambridge, Marshall, Mitchell, and Rhodes Scholarships- all of which fully fund eligible graduate programs in the UK & Ireland. This info session will familiarize you with the different awards, application processes, and best practices for constructing competitive applications. Students of all majors are encouraged to attend. We recommend attendees have a minimum GPA of 3.6. This event is open to all LMU undergraduates, graduate students, and alumni- including international students. Register here to attend.
