Staffing Changes in Volunteer Programs
The City of Vancouver’s Volunteer Program is entering a time of transition. Volunteer Coordinator, Chelsea White will be leaving to begin a career in social work after nearly four years of dedicated service and study. We are deeply grateful for her commitment and wish her the very best in this next chapter.
During this transition, staffing to support volunteer initiatives will be extremely limited. Support for current active volunteers will continue as possible; however, no new volunteer requests can be fulfilled at this time. Some delays and adjustments in services are expected.
Thank you for your understanding and continued dedication to our community. For information about upcoming projects, please contact cityvolunteer@cityofvancouver.us. We appreciate your patience if there is a delay in response.

Día de Muertos will return this October with beautiful luminarias, traditional Mexican dancing, live music, guest artists, catrinas and activities for all ages. Community members will be invited to participate in an ofrenda (or altar) to their loved ones who have passed away by sharing photos, notes and other offerings. We still need volunteer support for setup and cleanup. RSVP today to be part of this beautiful event!

Many Parks volunteers have used the MyVancouver app in the past to submit service requests for issues like leaking water fountains or graffiti. Starting on Oct. 1, all service requests previously handled through the app will now be available on our website, which offers a more streamlined experience that is optimized for mobile, equipped with content translation, and designed to bring everything you need into one convenient place at www.cityofvancouver.us/report.
