Our summer 2023 re-enrollment form is now available. To re-enroll, make sure to select Returning Users on the Application Form. We will begin enrolling returning students in mid-December. Bread Loaf is pleased to offer residential programming at three campuses:
|
-
our main campus in Ripton, Vermont;
- our Oxford, UK campus at Lincoln College, University of Oxford;
-
our newest location at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies in Monterey, California.
|
Summer 2023 program dates are posted and fees will be added soon. We are also offering some options for online study. We encourage students to submit their re-enrollment form early for the best campus selection and access to financial aid and special funding. Financial aid applications are now available, with aid awarded in two rounds to admitted students: one in February and one in April. We are also excited to be offering special funding opportunities once again this summer! All previous fellows will be notified when fellowship and scholarship applications are available.
We hope that you will join us this summer!

Fall 2022 Dixie Goswami Action Grant Awards |
Congratulations to the Fall 2022 recipients of Dixie Goswami Action Grants!
|
- Dr. Kayla Hostetler will use funding to support her attendance at NCTE 2022.
-
Andrew Marchesani is funded to collaborate with BLSE faculty member and Beyond the Page director, Craig Maravich. Andrew will consult with Beyond the Page actors to develop curriculum using Lorraine Hansberry's A Raisin in the Sun to gain perspective on housing insecurity in Sacramento, CA, where Andrew teaches. According to Andrew, actors will "guide students as they act out scenes from the play and facilitate discussion of the parallels between the text and current events in Sacramento housing."
- Susan Miera (MA '97) will document the work of the BLSE-affiliated center at Santa Fe Indian School. Funds will be used to pay writing center student mentor interns to interview, record, and edit a film that will serve as a resource for school-based writing centers.
-
Tim O'Leary (MA '07) and Bill Rich (MA '99 ) will lead a two-day filmmaking and social justice-focused workshop at Aiken, SC, to support What's the Story's (WTS) NextGen SC cohort. They will lead the monthly WTS retreat from Aiken while onsite.
