Welcome to the October edition of the SOLVE-CHD monthly updates 2022. This monthly e-newsletter will keep you up to date with the key progress of the SOLVE-CHD projects and provide updates on our events and initiatives. Simply 
email solve-chd.info@sydney.edu.au if you wish to share/add anything from your area that is directly/indirectly related to the SOLVE-CHD program. We would also strongly encourage you to share your research highlights and successes that is relevant to cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention with us so that we can celebrate your achievements with our network.

SOLVE-CHD Researcher Spotlight October
A/Prof Nicole Freene PhD BAppSc (Physiotherapy) BSc (Hons) 
Associate Professor in Physiotherapy, University of Canberra
Nicole is an Associate Professor in Physiotherapy at the University of Canberra. She has been practicing as a physiotherapist for more than 25 years, working in hospital settings and primary health care, and was awarded her PhD in 2014. Nicole has a strong interest in the primary and secondary prevention of chronic disease, spending most of her career working in cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation. Her research focuses on increasing physical activity levels and decreasing sedentary behaviour in adults, both in healthy and cardiac populations, and physical activity promotion by health professionals. Nicole is the co-chair of the Asia-Pacific Society of Physical Activity (ASPA) Special Interest Group ‘Physical activity in Healthcare’, and board member of the Heart Foundation ACT and the Australian Cardiovascular Health and Rehabilitation Association NSW/ACT.

SOLVE-CHD Postgraduate Scholarships are now open
$32,000 per annum (up to 3 years) for Postgraduate/HDR students to undertake research in cardiac rehabilitation and secondary prevention field.

This interactive workshop aims to help inform and support attendees to develop competitive projects with implementation and policy impact evaluation embedded throughout the design.

Hear from content experts in implementation science, health economics, impact analysis and policy evaluation; and ‘pitch’ your project ideas for immediate feedback from an expert panel.

We will also release exclusive details of a catalyst grant opportunity in conjunction with Sydney Health Partners.
